Uplyme is a village in Devon, England. It is located in the East Devon district, on the River Lym, about seven miles east of Plymouth.

Uplyme was first recorded in 932 as ‘Upwelema’, meaning ‘upper pool’. In 1086 it was recorded as ‘Oppelem’, and in 1238 it was called ‘Upelim’. The village grew up around a ford across the River Lynher.

The parish church of St Peter dates from the 15th century and is a Grade I listed building. The village also has a primary school, Uplyme Church of England Primary School, which dates from 1846.

The village is home to the Uplyme Cricket Club, which was founded in 1855. The club plays in the Devon Cricket League.

Uplyme is twinned with the village of Saint-Jean-de-Sauves in France.
